Resources

We are committed to trying to help our community with their small animals needs. Be it helping with microchips, vaccines (excluding rabies), food or low cost spay and neuter. We try our best to help where we are needed and to help families be able to keep and care for their pets. Here at FKFK we offer low cost cat FVRCP vaccines and low cost dog DAPP vaccine, low cost microchip and spay/neuter assistance (eligibility on a case by case basis.)

If you are looking for a great low cost option for spaying and neutering we recommend Prairie Paws in Ottawa KS! They do an amazing job and keep the costs as low as possible and even sometimes can offer financial assistance to those who qualify.

Cats are just $75 ($80 after Jan 1st 2024) and includes spay/neuter, rabies vaccine, FVRCP vaccine and microchip.

Dogs are just $120 and include rabies vaccine, distemper vaccine and microchip. All surgeries get a 24hr pain injection and pain medications to give at home.

Here at FKFK we have even been using them for our spays/neuters lately and scheduling is all done online. Click their logo for more info!

TNR Coming Soon!

We are pleased to announce very soon we will be starting a TNR program! TNR stands for Trap, neuter, release or return. This vital program will begin in Osawatomie KS and hopefully will expand to include all of Miami County KS very soon. This program will pair up volunteer trappers with areas of known stray cat issues to get the cats trapped and spayed/neutered, vaccinated and released back. As much as we would love to be able to pull all into rescue that is just not feasible at this time. But we can help stop the growing number of homeless cats by getting them fixed to stop the reproduction. If you would like to volunteer to be one of our trappers or know of a location needing fixed please reach out. The program will also include when available funding to help reduce the cost. This is not something our rescue can provide entirely on our own so we will need donations to help make this program a success.

This program is still in the planning stages, please be watching for updates and launch dates!

We are now accepting applications for TNR services and volunteers. While we continue to work with the city of Osawatomie to allow this program we will still accept applications for both. Please use the links below to submit an application.

Om Cat Health has been a great supporter of ours. Their holistic approach to FIP with their FIP inhibitor has helped several cats in our rescue, not only has their product worked for us but they have donated their product to our rescue to help with the cost. We are forever grateful for their product and support.
